Barry David Miller, M.D. received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and his B.A. from the University of California. He has been licensed to practice Medicine and Surgery in Hawaii since 1968, and he is an expert in Nutrition and Weight Control, as well as Sports Medicine.

While at Straub Clinic, Dr. Miller became a Charter Member of the American College of Emergency Physician in 1970, and then practiced Emergency Medicine in many of Hawaii's hospitals for 15 years, establishing a reputation for his excellent cosmetic repairs on disfigured trauma victims.

In 1984, Dr. Miller decided to devote all of his efforts to Cosmetic Surgery. After additional training, both in Hawaii and on the Mainland, he opened the Center for Cosmetic Surgery, now Cosmetic Surgery Int'l, LLC, which was the only outpatient facility in the World devoted exclusively to Liposuction Surgery from 1985 to 1999. Recognized as one of the World's foremost practitioners in his specialty, Dr. Miller is the creator of a "Lipo-Sculpturing" technique that eliminates many of the problems long associated with the procedure. He presented his innovative technique at the Tenth World Congress on Liposuction in Philadelphia in April 1991. His specially designed Liposuction instruments are being used by scores of surgeons all over the world.

In keeping with his keen interest in health maintenance, in 1998 Dr. Miller introduced Preventive and Anti-Aging Medicine, including Hormone Replacement for patients over the age of 35-40 who wish to delay the aging process.

Since 1999, in addition to Liposuction and Liposculpture, Dr. Miller began performing Hair Transplantation, after studying for over a year with R. Michael Elliott, M.D. in California, learning the most modern techniques, including single hair grafting.

For 17 years, Dr. Miller was the Flight Surgeon for the Hawaii Air National Guard Fighter Squadron, which is charged with Hawaii's air defense with the aid of the F-15 Eagle Fighter jets. He is now a Senior Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force Reserves, and he holds the rank of Lt. Colonel.

Dr. Miller is a Full Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, a Member of the American Society of Liposuction Surgery, the only member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery in Hawaii, as well as a number of International Surgical organizations.
